Eligibility Period

Activity / Projects that were active between November 1st 2022 and January 31st 2024 are eligible for the 2024 awards.  Ongoing projects are also eligible.

The Established FDI Business Category refers to organisations with an initial footprint BEFORE November 1st 2020.

The Best Early Stage FDI Business Category’ refers to organisations an initial footprint AFTER November 1st 2020.

The Grand Prix Winner – FDI Company of the Year will be chosen from the winners of the individual categories.

The FDI Hero Award will be chosen by a separate panel of judges to honour an individual who has made and outstanding contribution to the FDI ecosystem in Ireland.

Best Employee Support Programme

Nurturing and caring for your employees is a key part of the role of an FDI company operating in the Republic of Ireland. Employee wellbeing is not only a duty but also a key success factor for all organisations.
This category aims to shine a light on the organisations with the best Employee Support Programmes. Your entry should focus on how your organisation has developed, implemented and refined structured employee supports. The winning entry will demonstrate how both employee engagement and delivery of the programme were paramount in achieving success. Ongoing activity is admissible.

All organisations are only as good as the people who drive and work in them. This category honours programs and projects that are the best at developing the inward investing business’ skills and talent base.
The winning entry in this category will demonstrate best practice in staff development and reference how said development contributed to the business goals and developed the quality of the labour force. Entries in this category can include transformation, activity and projects around the shift to remote and hybrid working and other changes to workplace proactive due to Covid 19. Ongoing activity is admissible.

Many inward investing organisations pivot from their original strategy to adapt to changing business conditions and to take advantage of new and emerging opportunities. This category honours the best of these.
Entries should focus on why and how transformation took place and what the results and learnings of the transformation were. Entries in this category can include transformation, activity and projects around the shift to remote and hybrid working and other changes to workplace proactive due to Covid 19. The knock on effect of overseas owned organisations is perhaps most strongly evident in their policies on sourcing and purchasing in the Republic of Ireland. This award looks for best practice in local sourcing of goods & services demonstrating real contribution to the Irish economy and the winning entry will demonstrate this.
This award is open to organisations, based in the Republic of Ireland that act as suppliers of goods or services to FDI companies operating in this market Ongoing activity is admissible.

Organisations today are more conscious of the need for exemplary corporate citizenship, driven not just by stakeholder expectations, but also by the business impact of an enhanced corporate reputation and consequent brand loyalty.
This award aims to recognise FDI Companies operating in the Republic of Ireland which are leading the field in this increasingly important activity. Entrants should be able to point to societal, customer and employee engagement, the linking of the CSR initiative with the organisation, and the results and benefits obtained. Ongoing activity is admissible.

The world is at a tipping point when it comes to sustainability for governments, consumers and business. Sustainability and environmental responsibility and proactivity must be at the forefront of all business activity.
The Commitment to Sustainability award will recognise a FDI Organisation operating in the Republic of Ireland who has sustainability and environmental stewardship at the core of what they do. Ongoing activity is admissible.

The Commitment to Diversity, Equality & Inclusion Award

DE&I is a key component of any successful organisation and this category will shine a light on the best practice programmes and activity in FDI companies in the Republic of Ireland. This category looks at DE&I in the workplace across (but not limited to) cultural, race, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age and physical disability. The winning organisation will demonstrate a company wide focus on diversity, equality and inclusion and highlight specific projects and initiatives around same. They will also demonstrate the implementation of these practices throughout the organisation from senior management and moving through all verticals and areas of the business.
The winning entry in this category will demonstrate how business activity has created a diverse and inclusive working environment to the benefit of staff and the business. Ongoing activity is admissible.
